Reformer Pilates is a dynamic, full-body workout using a spring-resistance machine. It builds strength, improves posture, enhances mobility and supports overall fitness. We know you’ll love it!

Yes! At Studio Seventeen Pilates, we consider a beginner to be someone who has done between 0-10 reformer Pilates classes in the past year. Our ‘Foundation Flow’ and ‘Core Control’ classes are beginner-friendly and beginner sessions are clearly highlighted when you book. We kindly ask that if you’re in this category, you stick to these beginner sessions before moving up, as joining intermediate or advanced classes too soon can affect the flow and experience for other clients. Our instructors always offer modifications so you can progress safely and confidently.

Booking & Waitlist

You can book via our Studio Seventeen website, the Mindbody app or the Mindbody desktop site. Our Studio Seventeen App is coming soon…

Classes can be booked up to 7 days in advance. Availability may vary depending on the schedule.

  • When a class is fully booked you will see the option to join the waitlist.
  • You will only be able to join the waitlist if you have sufficient class credits or an active membership on your account.
  • If a spot opens ahead of the class, the first person on the waitlist will automatically be added and notified by email (and so on).
  • If a spot opens up within our 24 hours cancellation period, the person who is first in the waitlist queue will automatically be added and notified by email. Please be aware that our 24 hour cancellation policy still applies if you are added from the waitlist.
  • If you don’t get off the waitlist and into a class, your credit will be returned to your MindBody account.

Cancellations

You must cancel at least 24 hours before class to retain your credit. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in the class being deducted. Exceptions may apply in certain circumstances.

For safety reasons, we ask that all clients arrive 10 minutes ahead of the class. If you arrive more than 5 minutes after class starts, you may not be admitted and the class will still be deducted from your credits.

What to Bring & wear

Yes, grip socks are required for all reformer classes for hygiene and safety. You can purchase a pair at the studio if you don’t have them.

Comfortable activewear that you feel your best in! Grip socks are mandatory, these can be purchased from the studio or you can bring you own!

Grip socks are a must and we recommend that you bring a water bottle. You might also want a sweat towel as these are not provided. Other than that, just your beautiful self! We provide all the equipment you need for the session.

Getting Started

  • For your very first instructor-led class, please arrive 15 minutes early so we can complete your induction, we’ll show you the equipment and get you settled.
  • For your very first On-Demand session, please arrive 5 minutes early to get settled and set up your equipment to make the most of your session.
  • Wear grip socks and comfortable activewear.
  • Bring water and be ready to have fun!

Yes, all first-timers at Studio Seventeen need to complete a quick induction before joining an instructor-led class. Please arrive 15 minutes early, as your instructor will call you in before everyone else to show you the ropes. You’ll learn how to set up your reformer, adjust the foot bar and stopper, and get comfy with the springs. It’s mandatory for your safety and so you can feel confident using the machine. Think of it as us investing a little extra time into you, so your very first class feels smooth and enjoyable. Anyone who hasn’t done the induction won’t be able to join the class – but once it’s done, you’re all set to go!

Yes, but it’s nice and simple! For On-Demand sessions, your induction comes in the form of a short safety video (about 8 minutes). You’ll receive the link in your booking confirmation email, so you can watch it in advance or you can play it when you arrive at your reformer bed. The video covers the basics you need to know to use the machine safely and confidently. Once you’ve watched it, you’re free to hop on the On-Demand reformers whenever you like!

We recommend 2–3 classes per week for best results, but even 1 class a week can improve strength, posture and flexibility. What we love about our offering is that you can mix and match instructor-led and On-Demand classes to reach your desired goal.

Studio Policies & Amenities

We have a space for you to sit down whilst you remove your shoes and safely store them and your belongings. We do not have changing rooms or showers at the studio.

We kindly ask that phones are kept silent during class to maintain focus and flow. If you’d like to film yourself for social media, you’re welcome to do so, as long as no other clients are captured, as their privacy is very important to us. Don’t forget to tag us when you share, we love seeing your progress!

For safety reasons, children and pets are not permitted in the studio.

Special Considerations

If you’re pregnant and have previous Pilates experience, you may be able to join classes with medical clearance. Please contact us before booking so we can advise on the safest options. We also advise you to seek guidance from a medical professional.

This will vary on a case-by-case basis and will depend on how severe your injury is. We always advise that you take the advice of a medical professional when determining if reformer pilates is right for your recovery. Once they have given the go-ahead we are happy for you to join one of our classes. Please let your instructor know so they can provide modifications tailored to you.

With your doctor’s approval, you can usually return 6 weeks post natural birth or 10–12 weeks post C-section. We recommend starting with beginner or tailored sessions.
